GreenCard account login and management is provided via greencard.metrotas.com.au. Access to and use of GreenCard services is subject to Metro Tasmania’s GreenCard Terms and Conditions, in addition to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GreenCard login credentials. Metro Tasmania is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised access to your account where that access results from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
4.3 Network Updates and Alerts
Metro Tasmania publishes service alerts and network updates on the Website as a convenience to customers. While we aim to publish alerts promptly, Metro Tasmania does not guarantee that alerts will be available in real time or that they will be complete or accurate at the time you view them.
5. Location Data
5.1 How We Use Your Location
The Trip Planner may request access to your device’s location (latitude and longitude) through your browser to provide the following features:
- Identifying nearby bus stops
- Planning trips from your current position
- Displaying your location on the Trip Planner map
Location is accessed through your browser only while you are actively using the Trip Planner. The Website does not collect location data in the background or outside of your active browser session.
Your location coordinates are transmitted to Metro Tasmania’s own trip-planning service (hosted in Australia) solely to find nearby stops or plan your journey. This transmission is made over a secure connection. Your location is not linked to your identity and is not retained by that service.
Metro Tasmania does not use your location for advertising, tracking, or profiling purposes. Location data is not shared with any third-party analytics or advertising service.
5.2 Location Access is Optional
Location access is optional. The Website can be used without granting location permission. If you do not grant access, the following Trip Planner features will not be available:
- Automatic ‘nearby stops’ based on your current position
- The ‘locate me’ button on the Trip Planner map
- Using your current location as a trip start or end point
