Dates

The new Bridgewater Bridge will open to traffic from Monday 2 June 2025. As a result, there will be some changes to how buses move through the area, and the bus stops that Metro services.

From Monday 2 June 2025, Bus Stop 49 (Brooker Highway, Granton) will no longer be serviced by Metro buses. Customers should instead use the closest alternative bus stop, Bus Stop 48 (Main Road Granton, near York Hotel).

Stop 50 Gunn Street (inbound and outbound) will be reopened.

A new inbound bus stop has opened, located outside the Derwent Tavern on Old Main Rd. Please see the map below.

Please note that while Metro is working with the Department of State Growth and Bridgewater Bridge Project Team to minimise the impact on our customers as the bridge goes through a phased opening, there may still be delays to services travelling through this area. This can lead to flow-on effects for other services in the southern network. Please allow an extra 5-10 minutes when planning your travel, particularly during peak times.

Please check our Trip Planner for up-to-date information.

More information on the Bridgewater Bridge Project is available here.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
