HOBART: Mount Nelson – Bus 457 Early Termination of Services

Due to large New Year’s Eve crowds and illegal parking near the Mount Nelson Lookout, buses are often unable to safely turn at the Mount Nelson Terminus. To avoid delays and disruptions, some Route 457 services will start and finish at Mount Nelson Oval instead of the usual terminus.
Service changes
The following services will be affected:
• 7:37pm Route 457 (outbound) – will terminate at Mount Nelson Oval
• 9:37pm Route 457 (outbound) – will terminate at Mount Nelson Oval
• 7:40pm Route 457 (inbound) – will commence from Mount Nelson Oval
• 9:40pm Route 457 (inbound) – will commence from Mount Nelson Oval
Bus stops temporarily closed
For these four services only, the following stops will not be serviced:
Outbound:
• Nelson Road before Bligh Court
• Nelson Road at Hargrave Place
• Nelson Road after Hargrave Place
• 651 Nelson Road
Inbound:
• Mount Nelson Signal Station, Nelson Road
• Nelson Road at Broughton Avenue
Temporary bus stops
Please use one of the following instead:
• The temporary stop shown in green on the map, or
• Nelson Road at Nelson Close (this stop remains in service)
For everyone’s safety and to allow buses to turn around, we kindly ask that vehicles do not park in the red-shaded area:
