Metro App: Beta Testing

A new Metro app is (almost) here – the better way to plan your bus travel in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. Designed with you in mind, our updated app offers features to make your bus travel easier and more enjoyable. From planning your trip and discovering nearby bus stops to checking timetables and managing your GreenCard on the go, everything you need is at your fingertips.

Why We Need You

Before we officially launch, we’re looking for enthusiastic bus users like you to help us test the app’s features and ensure it meets the needs of our community. This is a unique opportunity to share your thoughts for consideration and help make sure it’s the best it can be for all Metro customers.

What’s In It for You?

As a beta tester, you’ll get early access to our new app and a chance to explore its features before anyone else.* Your feedback will help us shape the app to better serve our passengers. Plus, you’ll have a hand in improving public transport in Tasmania, making it a smoother, more connected experience for everyone.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking regular Metro bus users who:

  • Have an iPhone or Android device.
  • Are keen to explore and test new technology.
  • Are willing to provide constructive feedback on the app’s functionality, user experience, and any bugs or issues encountered.
  • Are interested in making a positive impact on Tasmania’s public transport system.

What to Expect

As a beta tester, you’ll be asked to:

  • Use the app for your regular bus travel over a specified testing period.
  • Explore all the features of the app, including trip planning, checking GreenCard balances, and staying up-to-date with network updates.
  • Provide feedback for consideration about your experience through a simple form.

Please note: While the updated app does not currently include real-time tracking capabilities for individual bus trips, this feature is in development and will form part of an upcoming update as part of the Department of State Growth’s Integrated Ticketing Project.

Metro will take all feedback under consideration but is regrettably unable to implement all beta tester suggestions.
