As the holiday season approaches, Metro is proud to partner with Foodbank Tasmania to support local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. This year, we’re coming together to make a meaningful difference in our community through a festive food donation drive running until Friday 12 December 2025.
Why We’re Supporting Foodbank Tasmania
Food insecurity is not just a seasonal challenge… it’s a long-term reality for many Tasmanians. According to the Foodbank Hunger Report 2025, one in three Australian households experienced food insecurity in the past year.
Foodbank Tasmania plays a vital role in addressing this crisis. As the state’s largest food relief organisation, it distributes essential groceries to more than 110 community groups and charities, ensuring families have access to nutritious food and essentials throughout the year. Through our partnership with Foodbank, Metro is helping ensure Tasmanians doing it tough can enjoy the festive season with full pantries and warm celebrations.
