About the Opportunity

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus made up of $1000 sign-on-bonus once you pass probation and $1000 once you hit 12 months at Metro.
Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our high-performing maintenance team. Based in our well-equipped workshop, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating at peak performance through high-quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs.
About you
You’re a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You thrive in a busy workshop environment, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are always focused on safety and quality.
You’re not just good with tools – you’re a problem solver who understands the importance of keeping buses moving. You take initiative, stay organised, and communicate clearly with others around you.
You’ll also bring:
- A trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Cert III or equivalent), or trade qualified in Light Vehicle willing to upskill to Heavy Vehicle.
- Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles or diesel equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to doing high-quality work
- A strong focus on workplace safety and compliance.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Current driver’s licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)
