About the Opportunity
At Metro we are committed to making the journey better for all Tasmanians. We have a great opportunity for a detail orientated Operations Supervisor to support our Operations Team.
The role of Operations Supervisor is to coordinate the daily bus operations of the Depot to ensure the efficient, safe and reliable delivery of bus services.
About you
Do you like a challenge where every day is different? The Operations Supervisor will play a key role in contributing to the success of the Operations team and to the delivery of our northern operations.
Critical to this role is your ability to coordinate daily bus services (including route, school and charter) and ensure the highest possible compliance is met with regard to scheduled runs. Importantly you will bring your authentic energy and enthusiasm to work to contribute to a trusted and high performing team to achieve required outcomes. This includes the effective management of bus operators.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Knowledge of transport management and logistics or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills enabling the production of documents that are clear, accurate and concise.
- Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement systems and performance management systems.
- Workplace First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain.
- Good organisation skills to enable to coordination of a variety of tasks simultaneously including the ability to prioritise, plan and complete work activities within tight time frames.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills that can deal with complex multi-faceted problems.
